If you used the package installer, and it worked, then you've no need to run any of the command line stuff. The package installer takes care of all that for you.

That said, many people have reported problems with the package installer and we (the developers) cannot tell exactly what the problem is. We think it has to do with the installer using non-standard locations, but none of us are well enough versed in Mac installation packages to debug and fix it. If it works for you, then you're one of the lucky few.

To tell if the installer worked, open a command line and type "gregorio --version". You should get a clean statement of the version number (2.3 for the installer package) and the copyright. If you get an error instead, then the installer package did not work correctly and you'll want to follow the instructions for removing all traces of it and install from source code (either the git development branch or the stable 2.3 tarball).

Even if you do get the right output, though, you're not necessarily out of the woods yet. You'll need to go through the process of making an typesetting a gabc file (I suggest following the tutorial if you're new). If you can get all the way through the process to a pleasing result, then you'll know the installer worked. If you run into problems, post about them here and we'll try to walk you through them (or let you know if they're problems due to the installer and you need to go back and do a source installation).
