Please recheck your ngettext() declaration and rethink your statement.

results, ngettext ("result", "results", results));
Looks fairly straight forward to me. Don't forget --keyword=ngettext:1:2.
PS. The order problem is orthogonal to plural forms and has also been
addressed in newer gettext implementations (e.g. GNU gettext).
