But I still submit that scripts offered by a gwmicro company employee and
having the company logo, or mark or licensing inside, i actually took a
look inside that script and there's a huge comments area about nothing but
copy write and licensing and all that, well, I think that was the hotspot
script actually.
But it's bad karma for company scripts to imply doing something they don't
do.
So save face and cover your butt by stating that it's only a test example,
not a completely working one.
I think that's very constructive and not negative at all.

That's why I plunk down my hard-earned money so that the supposed experts
can do it for me 'smile'.
I'll give praise when it's deserved, and criticism when it's warranted.
Do you fix all your own plumbing, and electrical issues, or work on your
own car?
Did you build your own computer, or your own house?
Bet you hired someone to do some of those things.
I know that software makers are in a little different league, they can't
account for all the variable that are on everybody's machines.
But still, why is any level of sloppiness acceptable for software, and
notfor other stuff?
If you were having issues, you'd be screaming louder than anybody I bet.
So let's ease off of the self riteousness. a bit buddy.

it's good for exploring stuff, and mousing around.
The scripts mostly work when they're not generating errors.
I don't feel warm and fuzzy unless I have 5 or 6 errors a day but if
the boys and girls are doing their job, this is helping them.
I take great delight in making smart-ass comments when I send in bug
reports.
But when we makes me mad, I have other alternatives.
Some folks here don't and I'd be mad too if my main means of access
wasn't doing what I needed.
So trying to keep a balance between productively trying to squash
bugs, and airing grievances, and being decent about it, and giving
the guys a chance, all in all, I gotta to say, when someone's paid
out good money, they expect results.
I don't think they know entirely what they're doing yet, because
scripting is so new for we, so we're having some growing pains.
But it is frustrating as hell when your trying to get work done.
God I do wish we didn't get rushed out the door so fast, you know a
lot of people are afraid to speak up, but I've gotten some
interesting private emails about this and that.
I get in trouble for running my mouth, but better to die on your feet
and live on your knees.
So I tell all my students, and fellow we users, call them up, write
them, let them know what you need and what ain't workin that's the
only way things will ever change.
If a blind man never stood up and fought for what they needed, we'd
still be out in the street selling pencils and begging for aums.
Some of us still aren't that much further along.
But as long as we are paying gwmicro salaries, we have a right to
ask, and to question, and yes, indeed to respectfully complain when
it is called for.

The Add/Remove script was really just a proof of concept, so
there may be issues. All it does is read in the uninstall keys in
the registry, and then populates a list box with the results.
There are no uninstall checks or anything like that to verify
that an application can be uninstalled. It just calls the string
in the uninstall key to begin the installation. As this is a GW
Micro script, it is free to modify and re-distribute, so if
someone wants to beef it up, they're welcome to it.
