You guys own the license, I paid for the software to use it with that license, and since the old floppy protection key often has to be circumvented by using that "regcode" command with a key you guys generate at your end given the numbers we supply from our computer's hardware, there is no problem, or should be. Why is it, then all of a sudden, not "legal" to send "regcodes?" Mike, generating those keys was in-house, not requiring the manufacturers intervention at all since it was done by someone who understood that my copy was already paid for.

Curtis, I understand your frustration, but step back and think about this. We were required to copy protect the DECtalk Access32 software. The manufacturer of that copy protection no longer supports that software and is no longer able to allow the generation of keys. How is directing your frustration and anger at us helpful in this case? If we could help you we would. We had no choice on using copy protection and have no control on the decisions and policies of the manufacturer of that copy protection. If we could do better we certainly would.

For all of us who still run Windows XP home or PRO who have a change in processors, where Dec_Access32 is still needed, and no more 3.5-inch floppy drives available, GW-Micro no longer has the software which will generate the "regcode," to continue support. Software? What would it cost to keep around for those of us who still would like to use Dec_Access32, if only software is needed to generate a regcode for a future service call. I feel outraged since I am now forced to use Eloquence which I do use some, but it is not my speech engine of preference. No thanks, GW-Micro. Sure I will upgrade (if that is what it is) my OS at some future date, but I had a processor failure / mother board failure so after there replacement, I am not up the creek without a DecTalk. Thanks again! I can use Window-Eyes DecTalk, but not for K1000 where I like to use it to read a good novel, rather than the so-called "human sounding" synthesizers, or, again, Eloquence, thank you not so very much. I must use the jfw Eloquence now too instead of Dec_Access32, also, no thanks again.

I am not a happy camper today, I can assure you all!
