You'll even laugh at me because my sound scheme is a hybrid Win 7/win 98 scheme LOL.

Besides, when I was using WE through software, it was the only way to tell if Window-eyes had crashed or if the machine was still up. For now I am so grateful that my old DecTalk Express still works and We is now out of the way of my sound card. But I have one more thing to check before I do a trial give-up of system sounds. And for the person who asked, this only refers to the basic Windows sounds like startup, shutdown, question, etc. But there are plenty of times when I'll hear the question sound and Window-eyes doesn't have anything to say. The sound tells me to hunt around with mouse keys. Same thing for failed hardware, if that happens. But I'm now going to research these little programs like playsound.exe and a few others I've found, just to see where it gets me. Sheesh! Veronica We Woof You A Merry Christmas! Diabetes Melodious!
