Hi Jeff,

This probably answers part of David's question today and I was wondering
why the size of that file was larger than it should be and my mistake was
not taking my time and having an older version of the installer in the same
folder as my program. So in haste I selected the .vbs and .xml and not
looking to see who was next on the list. So instead of .xml it was the .wep
file.

My latest posting should be only 20K in size, and date 12 midnight of
todays date.

There seems to be 2 issues with app central on this issue. one is
removing that and replacing it without any further downloads of it. Also my
Dell computer keeps on saying there is an update and there is none once the
new version is loaded and correct. So each time I turn on the Dell computer
it keeps alerting me of an update then says there is none when you say yes.

My Dell computer is windows 7 and my old tower is an XP and that
computer never alerts me of an update!

Aaron I think someone should look into this. If there needs to be a
purge of my app on app central then do it and I will do it all over again to
get the posting correct. But how does one get rid of the issue Kevin has
pointed out and seems to be messing up my Dell?

        Sincerely
        Bruce

When I tried the latest Uninstall app, I noticed that there is a .wepm
package file in the list of files instead of an .xml file. I had to go
into my app data to install this .wepm package which contains the .xml
file.

Hi David,

I am not sure when reading your error report what might be the
cause, the only solution is to try the 2.4 version and see if you get
that error again.

The error seems to indicate that there was no Treeview even made.
For it is attempting to make the initial leaf of the tree that may exist
but since the error says the control does not support this property
seems to indicate there is no tree even there.

For the data for the leaf is the initial leaf of all programs and
attempting to make the first leaf with a value of 1 and the name of all
files you have.

So, will have to look at 64 bit machines and see if there is an
issue with 64 bit machines with tree views.

Let me know if something else comes up or you get the same error
again.

Hi David,

The message box is there but I did not force your screen to go to
it.
You will find it there by alt tabbing to it. I guess I should have used
a complete message box that forces it to focus to it.
So try the new app I had to repost the app using the original
package name without the 2-4 in it so there are no warning messages.
I think what you are seeing is the assignment of a tree name with no
value in the field. So I changed the split char to see if there was a
name field with that char in it. I experienced this once before when
attempting to use the "|" as my splitter character. Sure enough there
were property names using that character in Windows 7.
So I changed it to "`" but it still may not have fixed it. Now I
pushed it up to chr(250) instead to see if I am out of any range of use.

So try and see if it fixes it.

Hi, Bruce,
Just made the edits and ran the app. I got the sign on message, the
error notice flashed and it continued to its first page which had some
things like:

List Choices
Uninstall
Quiet Uninstall
Refresh (button)
a search button and
some other buttons like to close and exit. That is what I did. I did not
explore further since I wanted to let you know one step at a time.

Upon exit, I did get the error message:

Text is: All Programs (260) Data is: 1

After dismissing that message I got the following error on a new line
(1332):

An Error Occurred in Uninstall 2.3 (800A01B6)

Description: Object doesn't support this property or method:
'dObj.Control(...).NewItem'
Line: 1332 - Set tvINew = dObj.Control( treeName).NewItem()

Path: C:\Users\Helkenn\AppData\Roaming\GW
Micro\Window-Eyes\users\default\Uninstall.vbs
Signed: No Signature

Active Window Title: , ,
Active Window Set File:
Focused Window Module: ,
Window-Eyes Version: 7.5.3.0
Active Synthesizer: DECtalk Access32 (Window-Eyes) Active Braille
Display: None OS Version: 6.1 (7601) SP: 1.0 GW Toolkit: 8.4.8

The thing sounds like W7 64 bit has some different objects and methods.
You may have to test for the OS version and stuff. That is only a guess
on my part! I've heard Doug's tutorial on some of this.

Good luck... Let me know if I can do anything else. I'm thinking of
trapping the line 1332 error in the same way, but do not know what to
report. Thus, I will refrain and await further instructions...

Dave
