Hi,

there seems to develop a nice subcomunity of people using
gwyddion on OS X ;) - nice ;) - Unfortunally there seems
also some bugs arising in using gwyddion on Mac :(

a) as eric mentioned, there is some bug with two
different perl packages which get installed while
building gtk2 on an fresh macports installation
        ("/opt/local/bin/a2p").

        "sudo port install p5-xml-parser gwyddion"

(on fresh macports installation) should help on
this issue. (But as eric mentioned: simply rerun
        should also help ;)

I've asked for the permission to remove the double
        dependency on different versions.

(And with macports 1.7 this error should be
        removed)

This bug effects 10.4 (tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard)

b) (_much_) more serious:

Somewhere between 10.5.2 and 10.5.5 Apple updates
des X-Window-System, and the build of gtk2 gets broken.
        (See: http://trac.macports.org/wiki/LeopardProblems,
        http://trac.macports.org/ticket/17437)

Even with installing xquartz I've got gwyddion only to
compile but not to run :(

I'll try another approach 2morrow. If I got
an solution, I'll let you know.

This seems only to affect 10.5

(and the libpng thingy with /usr/ is still another problem,
and x11 on Macports got an new maintainer)

JFI,
