No-one is obliged to answer the letters - they're demanding that you inform them that you're not committing a crime. Sorry, doesn't work like that. The whole bluster and intimidation with PACE is drivel too - you're under no obligation to talk to them, and what they're talking about is only the procedure for formal interviews, it has nothing to do with it involving the police or a criminal investigation. Sounds good though. As far as I'm concerned - and this goes for every employee of Capita, not just the TVLA - *if* they show up on your doorstep, politely inform them that you are removing their implied right of access. If they refuse to leave, call the police. Anything intimidating or threatening (or that you feel is either) constitutes assault. I've dealt with 20 years of harassment by these vermin, they're getting steadily worse.
