Haven't hit an app yet that's given me issue with this setup, YMMV.

Easy backup, but also easily reinstalled or repaired since that which makes the build unique is on the second partition which then takes up even less space as it's sans-core windows bloat. Also when using something like Acronis TrueImage's secure zone it's a great alternative to reinstalling because of minor pilot errors which mirroring does not prevent.

You don't know our user base. Trust me, it'd be a problem, even if the

Why would I want to back up Windows? It's just a means to an end--it's
everything else that I care about. Not to mention that with 150+ desktops,
DVDs aren't really an option. In fact, we don't back up user machines at
all. We provide workstations with mirrored drives to improve availability,
but users are responsible for checking in important data centrally.

That does not happen when you do it RIGHT! The install has to be done
so that Windows
chooses the second partition rather than relying on users to remember.

Bottom line is it's a cinch to backup core windows to a DVD as an image
if all that's
on C: is windows.
