Okay, I'm not sure what email your reading but you're really going off the deep end here.
First and foremost I am a consumer and most of my arguments are from that point of view. At the time compaq did this because it would help them get market share, it's ultimately also helped pc users. I pointed it out to give you some point of reference as to why PC users are a little more picky about letting things get closed up again versus say a mac user or some game console user. Again I say a reasonable, logical person would of caught on in the previous posts. Stop being so reactionary read and process what I'm saying before you go putting words in my mouth.
