I plan on updating core to use a pom, but was going to do that as a separate 
change.

Re: profiles - I'm not sure how they work with maven. I know ant/ivy a lot 
better than maven, but am having a good first experience using these maven ant 
tasks. This will be something interesting to look into.

This looks like a bug. I need to update this patch after the spacing patch went 
in, and will fix this.
