One more thing you might try: It is really hard to damage a SD card electrically, but if you do something like removing it while it is writing, you can seriously scramble the bits on the device so that a particular device cannot figure out enough about it even to do a successful reformat.
So you could try reformatting it in your computer. That isn't the right format for the H2, but if your computer manages to do a reformat then the H2 will probably be able to reformat on top of that. If you have a digital camera that can reformat a SD, you could also try on that. Worth a try, since you have nothing to lose, although I've seen cases where a scrambled USB stick or SD card can hang a PC when first plugged in.
