About time to put in my two cents.

I've played triple horns for more than twenty five years.  I've owned Schmid,
Finke, and Alexander triples.  I've played dozens of others and especially
liked a Paxman compensating triple.  About four months ago I bought a Yamaha
891 triple.  (Sorry Witchita Band - you had your chance to get my money.)

Yes, the Yamaha is a bit heavy, but it is well balanced and does not seem to
place undue stress on my left arm.  Everything about it is first rate, probably
because this one was made in Japan.  It does everything I want, and then some.
Also, I can finally play this brass horn LOUD and keep up with those nickle
silver dudes in my section.  If you saw the opening concert from the Mostly
Mozart Festival, both horn players were using this kind of triple.  Very
impressive sound, blend, and intonation.  The high f section is fabulous.
