Smaller groups like say, the Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony, San Francisco Symphony... Bob Marlatt Boston MA
In general, the Kruspe horns usually have a larger bell and throat, the Geyers have medium and medium large throat and bell. This tends to make the Kruspe an instrument good for that big orchestral sound and the Geyer more appropriate for smaller groups, chamber music solo etc. The larger bell also offers a big sounding lower register but may be less stable in the higher register. The opposite for the medium and smaller bells. This being said, both are used in all situations as not everyone has multiple horns.
