In general,  the Kruspe horns usually have a larger bell and throat, the
Geyers have medium and medium large throat and bell.  This tends to make the
Kruspe an instrument good for that big orchestral sound and the Geyer more
appropriate for smaller groups, chamber music solo etc.  The larger bell
also offers a big sounding lower register but may be less stable in the
higher register.  The opposite for the medium and smaller bells.
This being said, both are used in all situations as not everyone has
multiple horns.
