Can you run hp-check and post the output?
As well run:
/usr/lib/cups/backend/hp
and post the result as well.

Hello hplip-help,
I have used hplip 1.7.3 to install my hp deskjet 5550 at the Yellow Dog
Linux 5.0 of the Playstation 3.
I have choosen Fedora Linux 5.0 as best matching distribution.
The automatically setup by HPLIP was O.K., but the Testpage Print Utility
shows the error "Unable to communicate with device". The printer is
connected and powered on, but he prints nothing.
What can I do?
Best regards
