In the bad old days of consoles connected over bisync bailing wire circuits, one had to be careful to vary a console off line before disconnecting.
We saw that again with the 2074 and Visera protocol converters, and the situation was worse because the PC's used for consoles tended to crash or the emulator closed by accident. The result was console buffers filling and causing management grumpiness. Now there are ICC consoles, and we have some experience that suggest that these consoles need not be varied offline before, say, rebooting the PC. Anyone care to comment as to whether the consoles need to be varied or can be simply left alone? Thanks.
