Hello List,

Thanks to you all for your informative replies. A special thanks to those of
you who mentioned specific tools that may be used to measure the DASD
change/write rate.

My first step will be to get a rough idea of how big the pie is:
> overall rate of DASD changes, regardless of source, nature or SLAs.

Later, I will consider how to slice that pie:
RPO SLA & RTO SLA, async vs. sync and exclusions (e.g. page)

Regards,
Alan

Some claim to have recovered (fell over) and successfully warm started JES2
with mirrored spool. That has not been our experience, even with flash copy.
YMMV, but I would suggest planning for a cold start.

The TEMP pool would be environmental dependant. In our environment, TEMP
storage is not replicated.

I guess it's a matter of opinion; while I agree with page, there are
justifications for mirroring SPOOL and TEMP. When we set up GDPS, we included
the latter two.
Sometimes, data sticks around for awhile, especially in a long jobstream, or a
deferred PRINT window.
