Well, I'm basically giving up. There is not a "simple" way to do this. So we'll just stay with Tech Services maintaining a table. In the old product, it was a "registration database". With SMS, it will be a set of FILTLIST statements in the DATACLAS ACS routine. I'm not too keen on any of this. But I just checked. Our largest VSAM file is spread onto 30 volumes. It is getting over 2:1 compression.
