ISMF also provide a Test and Validate to check your ACS routines. You can't go wrong with the Test facility. :-) While I'm not a storage admin now anymore, I have in the past kept a double set of ACS setups (routines, datasets, etc) in production... One little hint I picked up somewhere - I have reserved a group of DASD which are marked as DISNEW and introduce them piece by piece to the 'live' pool.
