IBM XL C/C++ library, the ffs (find first set [bit]) function. Not only does it count from the LSb, it counts from one. So ffs(0x04) would return 3.
BTW and FWIW, the link garbling was at your end I think. My post survived the round trip to my Outlook just fine except for folding/truncation.
