Examine the documentation; you'll see that it always reads OS/VS2, sometimes
with MVS following it, sometimes not, e.g., "OS/VS2 MVS Overview", "This
edition applies to Release 3.8 of OSjVS2 and to all subsequent releases of
OSjVS2 until otherwise indicated in new editions or Technical Newsletters."

Gotta love bitsavers.

Hi R'Shmuel AMV"SH,
I worked for 2 quirky customers in a row. Both had MVS 3.8J.
When I arrived at the 2nd one in 1983, they were still running OS/VS1 7D
with BPE.

Regards,
David
