Of those 5 from his mention last year, almost all 5 have either closed, pulled out of some markets, had CEO quit, & none are thriving. Blowing his theory they will replace real banks. When money is almost free, zero interest rates, there will always be startups that are not really needed or viable. And calling something that doesn’t provide what actual banks provide a bank isn’t anything more that an attempt to give it some street cred. Since last years Fed rate raises, a bunch of these startups have died. Even some actual banks ran into problems.
