Somehow I got into the field with only 1 course in Numerical Analysis and Programming for Digital Computers (2 semesters) in 1961 and 1 course in Symbolic Logic. I was lucky that my company sent me to several IBM course and from 1977 to 1990 to SHARE. Should Colleges and Universities be teaching vendor specific operating systems? Should they be teaching the basic concepts of operating systems and of security?
