If you're trying to see a difference between background and foreground
then use the same TMP for both. If you're trying to see the difference
between IKJEFT01 and IKJEFT1A, then try both in background or both in
foreground. Changing two variable at once won't give you a clear
picture.

No, foreground versus background is a red herring. The behavior of
IKJEFT1{AB} would be just as bad in foreground.
