You need to engage your networking people. Verify that your subnet mask is correct. IF the subnet mask is correct AND IF the ports on the switch are configured to be in the same VLAN AND IF it is not a "private VLAN", THEN you should be able to ping your neighbor. But it smells like a routing/switching problem (e.g. bad subnet mask) that your network techs are best qualified to diagnose. Since you have a VLAN unaware VSWITCH, make sure that the port the VSWITCH is using is an ACCESS port, not a trunk. Alan Altmark z/VM Development IBM Endicott
