Sure. Go ahead... rub salt (weather) into the open wounds of all those
whose travel/education budgets were slashed, preventing them from
attending SHARE until all the economic moons align again. :-(

It's especially salty for those of us where the weather is decidedly more
damp and chilly, without ANY word of sun:

Chicago area outlook High/Low (°F) Precip. %
Thu Feb 26 Rain / Thunder 40°/23° 100 %
Fri Feb 27 Cloudy 27°/16° 20 %
Sat Feb 28 Cloudy 27°/13° 10 %
Sun Mar 01 Flurries 27°/13° 30 %
Mon Mar 02 Mostly Cloudy 32°/21° 10 %
Tue Mar 03 Partly Cloudy 31°/20° 10 %
Wed Mar 04 Partly Cloudy 34°/23° 10 %
Thu Mar 05 Light Wintry Mix 34°/24° 60 %
Fri Mar 06 Partly Cloudy 35°/24° 10 %
Sat Mar 07 Rain/Snow Showers 36°/22° 60 %

<sigh> *Why* did my forebears stop heading west when they got to
Chicago!?? At least I don't have to mow the grass yet!

SHARE in Austin

(Cross-posted to both the VM and Linux-390 lists).

For all those folks heading to Austin for SHARE next week, heer's what we
expwect the
weather to be like there:

Friday: Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 81.
South wind 5 to
10 mph becoming north northwest.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. North wind between 5
and 15 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Windy, with a north northwest
wind between 15
and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 36. North wind between 5
and 15 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 64. North wind around 5 mph becoming east
southeast.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 38. South southeast wind
around 5 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 70. South wind between 5 and 15 mph.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 76.

Austin is getting a cold front (well, at least it's cold to us...) late
Friday night so
both Saturday and Sunday nights will be chilly.....bring a coat. The rest
of the week
should be very nice.

If your looking for something interesting to do and free, check out the
bats that live
under the Congress Street bridge. It's home to the largest urban bat
colony in North
America. The colony is estimated at 1.5 million Mexican free-tail bats.
They emerge at
dusk to go hunting for insects. From the Convention Center, it's an easy,
straight walk of
about .3 of a mile (1600 feet, or 480 meters).

If you look closely as the bats emerge, you might be able to spot my
ex-wfie.....the old
bat. :-)
