If, at the prompt, you enter an "x" (which isn't on the menu), you should then see another short menu that will allow you to get into a shell. Once there, make sure your NIC is correctly defined, coupled, and configured. I don't know if ping is in the stage1 initrd or not, but try pinging your default gateway, the other z/VM guest, etc. Mark Post
