On the other hand, a scabby midline or spot near the belly button isn't 
always cullicoides-caused SE.   We have a type of smallish black fly that 
likes to hang out in that area, but any raw spots they cause are quite easy 
to control with Swat or about any old cheap brand of flyspray.
