Decent 500GB IDE drives are going for about Rs. 5K, which takes care of 8-10 months of storage. If you really care for the data, buy two, and make a software RAID array out of them. Splurge on another Rs. 1.5K for a good USB/IDE interface, and you have instant access to the stored data.
