Top posting works best for me, too.  I only see the top portion of the
message, unless I actually open it and I prefer having the quotes
underneath.  Then, if I need to refer to the quote for some reason, then I
will scroll down to read it.  With the new text at the top, I don't have to
"do" anything to read it, unless it's particularly long.  Just read and hit
delete when I'm done, and it automatically goes to the next message.

What I don't understand is why trimming the message is so important?  It's
not like most people will read the entire thing, just the new text.  I like
having the previous messages quoted at the bottom, in case I've come into
the middle of the thread, or I've forgotten what so-and-so said.
