are you sure I should type in "dgoodvin" or should it be my "short name" "dalegood" which appears to be the name of my home directory?? as far as remembering what I changed, i can't think of anything I did to change the ownership of my own directory; does that mean that the only way I can regain ownership is to do the Terminal message you suggested? thanks, dale g -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
