that it is better than OS X. To be quite honest, it has annoyed me
greatly over the past 5 years that progress was held hostage by a
bunch of people who don't understand the nature of progress. So, the
people who refuse to use OS X will be left on their little islands
as the new machines will not support "Classic Mode".
Semi-insulting :), but that's Ok.
I'd like to know what evidence either of you could produce to back up
your claim that Classic won't run on Intel Macs. Rosetta, which is
part of OS, allows any app that runs on a G3 to run on an Intel Mac.
I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying there's nothing out there
that I'm aware of that says you're right.
I should think that if Apple is going to put people through a
transition, they'd bend over backwards to make sure as many as
possible are happy -- which gives them strong incentive to keep
Classic in there for many years to come. It doesn't require any
updating, costs them nothing, keeps the intellectual property viable
and keeps a bunch of institutions/corporate/old-timer customers
happy. I'm not quite willing to put money on it, but I feel pretty
sure that Classic will be sticking around.

Claiming that the Macintosh is inferior to Windows because most
people use Windows is like saying that all other restaurants are
inferior to McDonald's.
