Also, is there a way to remove the blue magnifying glass icon at
the top
right of the menu bar,
i would not suggest trying to remove it. the steps involved (which
can be found at macosxhints.com) are kind of complex for a new mac os
x user.
and how can I easily see which applications are
running? I really miss a simple appliacation menu like OS9. Thanks!
if you want to see which apps are open, hold command and tab down,
and it will shwo you the list of apps, as well as let you cycle
through them.
