I'm running Tiger and even though I remove things from the Dock they're

the
things I WANT it to display? (for example, until I get more familiar

OSX, I don't use things like calendar, widgets, etc).
Also, is there a way to remove the blue magnifying glass icon at the
top
right of the menu bar, and how can I easily see which applications are
running? I really miss a simple appliacation menu like OS9. Thanks!
I know how you feel. I used Macintosh for many years and so when I
switched to Mac OpenStep X late last year I learned to hate the Windows
Taskbar... Uh, I mean the Windows Dock... No, I mean the Mac OpenStep X
Taskbar... Whatever. I downloaded a program to replace the Macintosh
Application menu that is called ASM. Without ASM I do not think that I
would be able to stand Apple's version of Windows also known as Mac
OpenStep X. I would love to have a Dock killer program so I never have
it trespassing on my desktop again.
Here is information on ASM:
