...and to piggyback on your posting, ever since I upgraded to Panther I've
been getting a lot of beach balls while browsing with Safari.  I don't
even have to abuse it for things to stall up. As an example, when reading Yahoo Groups, I'll open messages in new tabs and Safari will seize up even
if I do 2 or 3.

I believe that I've read in several places that if you'll "empty cache" from within Safari (under the Safari menu next to the Apple menu), that problem will lessen considerably.
