...and to piggyback on your posting, ever since I upgraded to
Panther I've
been getting a lot of beach balls while browsing with Safari. I
don't
even have to abuse it for things to stall up. As an example, when
reading
Yahoo Groups, I'll open messages in new tabs and Safari will seize
up even
if I do 2 or 3.
Here is a script that might help:
tell application "Safari"
quit
end tell
tell application "Finder"
if (exists item "(path to home
directory) :Library:Caches:Safari") then
delete item "(path to home directory):Library:Caches:Safari"
end if
if (exists item "(path to home
directory):Library:Safari:History.plist") then
delete item "(path to home
directory):Library:Safari:History.plist"
end if
if (exists item "(path to home
directory):Library:Preferences:com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.pl
ist") then
delete item "(path to home
directory):Library:Preferences:com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.pl
ist"
end if
empty trash
end tell
Where it says (path to home directory) you need to supply your own path.
