Hi

I currently have a wired network of eMac running Tiger and PC running Windows
2000/XP. It shares an NTL broadband connection via a wired router.

I have just purchased a D-Link 624 wireless router. I wanted this particular
model as it also features a 4 port switch so I can continue to use my wired
ethernet connections from the two machines and then slowly when the time is
right
move each machine over to wireless.

I have a few questions.

1. My eMac is a 1Ghz model with USB 1.1, what options other than an Airport
Extreme card do I have for going wireless on it?

2. Does anyone know of any cheap cards/USB dongles for the PC that makes it
wireless?

3. If with my current setup of wired Mac and PC I installed the D-Link 624
(replacing my current router), would I then have a wireless network open to
people getting in?

4. Would my friend with his laptop be able to connect to my wireless network
when
he comes to mine, sharing files and broadband connection?

Regards

--- The box said "Requires Windows 2000, or better" so I bought an Apple Mac.
