A wireless ethernet bridge is probably best, or a USB dongle (as below, but
with Mac drivers) will almost certainly be cheapest. Nothing is more elegant
than built in Airport, though. I doubt that

This should be easy: Just go to Maplin, or simply.co.uk, or watford.co.uk, or
your local computer fair for a wide choice of PCI cards or USB adaptors much
cheaper than airport cards.

Assuming the router supports WPA (assuming it's new, then it will), you can set
a passworded network. If it doesn't, then it will have WEP. This is great for
Panther or Tiger on the eMac, or XP on the PC. The router will almost certainly
be open by default: As soon as you connect it up and have gone through the set
up wizard, go through all the set up screens setting a router password (to
limit setting changes to you), and a network name and password (to share with
your friends if they want to use your internet connection. The network is then
limited to people to whom you have given the password.

If you use WPA then this depends on his OS. If he has an old version of Windows
(95, 98 etc) then you will need to use the older WEP instead of WPA to secure
your network. If he has XP, then stick with WPA which is more secure, and I've
found it simpler to set up.
