And then there is the plain weird. I live in an area where there are several sources of cable Internet; in fact, in my own building, the businesses downstairs have cable Internet. However, when I tried to order it, ALL cable companies told me that there was no residential cable Internet service in this part of town, so I'm stuck with DSL.
