Thanks, I'll look into getting the upgrade to v1.6.

If there is a problem with the IMail installation or directory paths, why is it not affecting all users?  We have a couple hundred virtual domains hosted, but all the problems that I've heard thus far are with users on the "localhost" domain, @wcnet.net.  And as I explained, for any user who has problems with WebMail on HIS computer, I don't have any problems with his account on MY computer(s) -- and there is only one physical mail server / IMail installation involved.

Glenn,

You defintely should upgrade to v1.6 of the Classic, but the issues you're describing don't have anything to do with the templates. Something is amiss with your IMail installation or domain directory paths or permissions.

Subject: [imail] delete/reply/fwd trouble after move to new server

We are using the HKSI Classic WebMail Templates v1.54 (I think that's the version).  Several months ago, we moved our IMail installation to a new server.  The old server was upgraded to the latest version of IMail, 6.06 with whatever patches were out at that point, and the new server had a fresh installation of it with the same patches.  The old server was WinNT4, the new is Win2K.  The move was done according to the procedure provided in IPSwitch's KnowledgeBase.

Since the move, a small (but vocal) number of users are having trouble deleting, forwarding, and replying to messages in WebMail.  An "Action Failed" screen comes up, from WebMail on the server (not locally from the user's browser).  When doing deletes, they sometimes can get it to work if they try again and again, but usually it just won't work at all.  Composing new messages seems to work OK, but replying, and especially forwarding, does not.

When accessing the accounts of customers who are having trouble from any of the computers at our office, I don't have any trouble at all.  My own accounts are working properly as well.  I thought perhaps the problem is related to older versions of IE, but I've used IE4, IE5, IE5.5, and Netscape 4.7 with no trouble whatsoever, while these few customers continue to have trouble.

For example, a customer brought his laptop in to show me that he could not forward or delete messages.  We logged off from his browser, and logged in to his account from several different machines around the office, and everything worked perfectly.  Tried again with his browser, and again those operations didn't work.

Any suggestions?  I see that Classic WebMail Templates v1.6 are now available.  Are there fixes in the newer version that would address these problems?  I've suggested that these users switch to Outlook Express and stop using WebMail exclusively, but many of them refuse to do so.  Some of them haven't even heard of Outlook Express (or Netscape Messenger, or whatever), they only know WebMail.
