Sorry, I guess I did not understand what you were asking, but you have
straightened that out!
I cannot offer more that what Quentin has already provided. I'm afraid that
I'm not an expert on SMTP Auth process and how each client 'works'.

As a programmer, it just doesn't make sense to me that AUTH works with a
primary domain, but not a virtual domain. I have had no good response from
anyone other than, "It's netscape's fault"...
