Here is my settings in IMail
Default mail host: mail.bsu.net
Queue timer: 30
Remote mail gateway host: mail.bsu.net
Send all remote mail through gateway ? NO
Tries before sending to gateway: 3
Tries before returning to sender: 20
Relay any mail
Allow remote mail to local lists ? YES
Allow remote view of local lists ? YES
Refuse NULL senders ? NO
Check valid sender format ? YES
Log to syslog.txt
Disable SMTP VRFY command? YES
Disable SMTP AUTH reporting? NO
I can create an account for people to test. But the thing is, right now my settings is
RELAY MAIL FOR ANYONE. So I think even I setup a test account, people can only test it
within the time frame I setup the relay mail option to RELAY MAIL FOR ADDRESSES.
Actually I'm a temp. Email manager. I got this role for my class. My class operates as
an ISP to provide a hands-on environment for students to learn. If I can't solve the
open relay hole problem... I'm afraid my professor may fail me! :(
So, can anyone please go step by step with me to setup Relay mail for Addresses?
I tried to telnet mail.bsu.net 25 and it went through fine.
Thank you
Wise
