Aha, so you say that I should forget the secondary mailserver and accept all
incoming mail with my mailserver, as I will then store and forward the
mail.. Yes, that would be an idea.

Are you really sure about this? The MX record in the DNS is called
"mail.customer.com", and I have an A-Record for that MX-Record in DNS.
But mail is sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and NOT to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
So do I really a mail.customer.com entry in the NT-Hosts file?

No, I am not sure that you are right here.
See at: http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19990715-DM02.htm
>If you allow relaying by local hosts or local users only (in SMTP
Security), you can cause additional hostnames and individual e-mail
addresses to be seen as local if you enter them in a file called
"accept.txt" in the IMail root directory (i.e., c:\imail\accept.txt).
Relaying for addresses would not be possible as we have customer from all
over the world with every possible ip.

See above.

"Relaying for adresses" is not possible. So you say that the bug is in the
missing "mail.customer.com" entry in the "hosts" file?
Let me know Len.
