the best idea. :)))

yes, how does Imail no where to forward the mail for
mail.customer.com host? There isn't any "automatic host aliasing" in
hosts file. customer.com does not necessarily imply:
*.customer.com

That has absoluteley nothing to do with mail after it has been
delivered to Imail.
>But mail is sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and NOT to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
but you never know, so be prepared.
>So do I really a mail.customer.com entry in the NT-Hosts file?
Do you have enough disk space to add that line in hosts file?
Do you also have an MX record for mail.customer.com?

yes, that "should" work. But note that relay for local hosts/users
is insecure and you should assume the spammers will find you and
hijack your mail server to send mail.

So have them use SMTP AUTH to relay through you, or, preferably, have
them send their outbound mail through their local access provider.
If you do not use "relay for addresses", the spammers gonna getcha.
>"Relaying for adresses" is not possible.
prepare to suffer

Try and it see.
