I took a very simple approach. Each Help Desk retrieves email from the same
email address (help@) where Ooutlook Express on each desk is timed for 15
minute intervals.
The first OE is started at Hr:Min, the 2ns is started at Hr:Min+5, and the
3rd at Hr:Min+10.
Sometimes there is overlap depending on exactly when the emails arrive at
the server, but on the average the emails are staggered pretty well.
When a particular Help Desk is not available, OE is shut down on that system
so the others get the load. We've also varied the times, but it all just
averages out. It'll all depend on how many requests you get.
Replies are sent from a particular desk (Joe@) in case there is further
communication that works best for the original Help person.
