There are now three or four web based viruses like Nimda.
A virus scanner might well catch the virus, but if you want
your browser to actually real-time filter out Nimda, my
product does this if you turn on the ad blocking features.
You can browse ad free and with Nimda dynamically removed
from any web page containing it even before the browser loads
the page... See: www.activatordesk.com You can also update
the filters from our update server. We blocked Nimda in both
our Imail and our browser filters almost a full day before
virus updates were available from McAfee or Symantec..
This might prevent this situation in the future, at least
on the web side.
