I used to be a mac user (I'm in the design field) and when I got into web design, I found the PC had much better tools so I switched but like you, I still get all sorts of files in Mac format.
What I did (rather than buying a Mac), was buy MacOpener from Data Viz. For $50 it allows me to open mac floppies, cd's, and zip disks... from there, Office, Photoshop and Illustrator (along with Fireworks and a few others) all open mac versions of their associated files as long as they have their extension on them. I believe Data Viz also has a file conversion tool, but I don't know much about it.
