We have seen this phenomena several times now on different machines, connections, and mail servers. When people upgrade to Office XP or Outlook XP, their mail processes really slow. It appears that the SMTP process from the client can take 30 minutes to get off the client machine. We got involved in these cases when the people started blaming the mail servers - when we switch the same machine to use outlook express as the mail client - the problem goes away (showing that it is not the server it is XP). Searching the knowledgebases on MS have come up with nothing. Has anyone else seen this issue and did you find a solution.
