Hello! We recently installed the IMail
Anti-Virus application on a front-end W2K server (both servers are W2K with
quad processors, tons of memory, etc).
This server scans our existing IMail Server v.706. We've experienced numerous incidents where
the anti-virus server processes (carrier scan and watchdog) stop without
warning and then cause the separate IMail Server v7.06 to stop processing messages. In
addition, the latest incident caused all of the email sent during the scanning
outage timeframe to be dropped. I
manually stopped the scanning after being notified by our customers that their
email services weren't working.
We've setup alerts using Whats Up Gold - we receive no error messages. Also, both the carrier scan and carrier
scan watchdog service are up and running every time – there is no
evidence at all that there may be a problem. IPSwitch support had us add an
additional registry key to increase the number of processes that the IMail
server will spawn before our latest issue occurred. Has
anyone else experienced this issue?
We've exhausted our means and resources on resolving this issue with no
success. I'd appreciate any
advice that you may have to offer...and thanks! |
