Rick and Sandy, Thanks again for trying to help on this.
It has been this slow since we added the first 1300 users in bulk (the other 500 have been added one at a time through web administration over the past 5 months). When there were only a few test users it was fine. Pagefile is 2GB (1 GB on drive C: the other on Drive E:) I have never "reset" it. Should I just make it 0 on both drives, reboot and then reset to 1GB on each drive?? Registry is 12MB with a maximum of 48MB I am running NAI's Netshield 4.5, but have uninstalled it and have the same problem with it or without it During the 5 minutes it takes to load the cpu usage fluctuates between 5 and 20%. I just ran it and it peaked for about a second at 33%. Never more than that. I have reinstalled the web templates several times Ipswitch tested the dummy domain theory and did not have a problem. However, they only put about 30 users in it. My theory all along has been that the problem is loading the user list in the drop down menu. I know it shouldn't take that long, but that seems to be what takes the most time. Once I get the user administration page loaded, it takes no time at all to create a user. The only slowdown is when you have to return to the user administration screen. It takes just as much time to use the command line too, also. not just the web administration tool. Nothing in the event log indexing service is disabled and fastfind isn't running The machine is one of 4 BDC's for a very small domain, but actually doesn't validate many logons, if that matters.
